change tracker

Description

I'm trying to change the tracker in a torrent file (or add one). I'm able to edit the session file, and change the tracker in it, but how can I make rtorrent to reload the session file using XMLRPC, so the changes could be detected ? The procedure would be something like: - save the session data - edit the session file - reload the session data into rtorrent using xmlrpc commands

thank you for the help, peet

You have to quit rtorrent, edit the session file, and restart rtorrent.

Or remove the download, edit the torrent, and add it again. You could also load the edited session torrent this way (but beware that it is removed too, so you need to save it first), however you will lose upload/download stats this way.

thank you for the answer. Is there any way to change the trackers on-the-fly without unloading the torrent from rtorrent ?

Should not be that much a problem to fix, but i'm in the middle of trying to get out a release.

It would be convenient to be able to override "private" flags as well, as there are a lot of torrents flagged with that use public trackers anyway, some even with Azureus-specific stuff to enable DHT. Being part of the info section, this obviously needs specific support in the client to be usable.

As an aside, an eventual "tracker blacklist/whitelist" feature could allow a user to set default states for certain trackers (or trackers matching a certain regex). Maybe even go nuts and add something like sed's s///? Just a suggestion. :-)

I am also looking for a way to add torrents directly into rtorrent.

Is this feature gonna be implemented in a next release ?

Thank you very much for your hard work!
